Taking care of ourselves and community in nature
Immersion in wild places is essential to the human spirit. Time spent on the Colorado Plateau brings awareness of forces greater than ourselves. The joy of exploring wild places restores balance and perspective.
In response to this need, our first Mental Health Hike took place in 2022. Development Associate, Alison Anders, created the event to “provide an opportunity for people to come together and learn tangible skills to maintain our mental health, while making new friends and building community.” Creating positive and proactive mental health routines is a direct pathway to a renewed human spirit. CFI’s Mental Health Hikes give locals an opportunity to exercise body and mind while restoring balance and perspective. Thanks to its popularity, we are sponsoring a series of additional hikes in 2023!
Thanks to generous support from CFI members, these programs are all free! A shuttle will be provided to any out of town locations, and CFI will provide snacks and water for each hike. These hikes fill up, and registration is required!
