Invest in Public Lands with USFS Service Day and Picnic
Escape the summer heat and give back to our public lands! Join us for a day of volunteer service at Warner Lake Camp Ground in the La Sal Mountains.
Feel good about helping clean up this high-use public area. We will do camp site, trail and picnic table maintenance or other projects led by a USFS Ranger. Picnic lunch provided. If volunteers are interested, a short hike with a CFI Environmental Educator will follow the service project to enjoy and learn about the complex mountain ecosystem.
This day is open to volunteers of all ages, and is an excellent chance for families to spend time together away from the crowds in town. Volunteers are welcome to stay the night and camp for free at the Group Site at Warner Lake Campground.
Each service hour earned through CFI can be applied as a $15 credit toward any of our outdoor education programs for up to 40% of the trip cost!
