Float down a mild and scenic stretch of the Colorado River this February for a chance to see wintering bald eagles in a wilderness setting. Along the way there will be opportunities to learn about bird identification from Hawkwatch International staff and our local Moab Bird Club. Participants initially meet "at the take out" at the Ranger Station and CFI will transport to the launch point at Loma. Covid protocols in place.

Private Upper San Juan River trips are for adults and kids 6 and over. This popular 26-mile stretch is famous for geological wonders and interesting side canyon hikes, extensive prehistoric Indian rock art, and dwellings. We’ll find mild rapids and wonderful scenic floats along ever-changing dramatic canyon walls. This is a great family trip and a gentle interaction with the outdoors. In summer and early fall months, we can add inflatable kayaks affectionately called "duckies."

Where: Begins and ends in Bluff, UT the night before the launch, with trip from Sand Island launch to Mexican Hat takeout.
