San Juan River Rafting

Upper Canyon – Journey through time and explore the rich history of the Southwest by river. This wonderful scenic float includes mild rapids and extensive prehistoric Indian rock art and dwellings.

Lower Canyon – Venture into deep meandering canyons on this magnificent wilderness stretch of river.  You’ll experience moderate rapids, hiking, history, and excellent wildlife viewing.


Spend all 5 nights on the Upper San Juan, from Sand Island/Bluff to Mexican Hat – there is plenty to see, places to hike. You can also enjoy a layover day for extended hiking.


Spend 5 nights on the  Lower San Juan only, from Mexican Hat, Utah to Clay Hills, Utah.

  • Where: San Juan River's Famous "Goosenecks" stretch OR Flatwater Canoeing on the Green River/Labyrinth Canyon
  • Number of Days/Nights: Five or Six Nights
  • Age Group: Both stretches suitable for Middle, High School & College Students
  • Cost per Person: $700 for 5 nights and $780 for 6 nights + for San Juan River, additional BLM and Navajo fees
  • Notes:
    • BLM special fee per person will apply depending on trip length (Sand Island to Mexican Hat is $10 BLM fee; Mexican Hat to Clay Hills is $20 BLM fee; add $12/person Navajo Nation Fee for each stretch as well. )  Suitability depends on your grade level, available launch dates,  water level and other factors.  Please call or email to discuss particularly time of year which affects water levels and insects (435-259-7750 or
    • There are no BLM special fees for the Green River.
    • One chaperone is required for every twelve students, with a minimum of two (2) required chaperones for River trips.  Each required chaperone receives a %50 discount. All chaperones beyond the required number are the full fee.
